Diversity

I can never be what I’m not
that’s just not the way I was brought up
I was taught to be independent and strong
I was told the difference between right and wrong

I can never be like you
I know that I’m not supposed to
I don’t want to be a part of the mainstream
I want to live my live and follow my dream

You want to control my thoughts and behavior
you always want to be my savior
but when will you realize
that I will never hide behind your disguise

I’m not perfect and I don’t try to be
I won’t try be anybody else but me
you can love or hate me for who I am
but I can never pass you daily exam

What would the world be like without diversity
if we were all the same wouldn’t that be a pitty
we are not all the same and we’ll never be
I’ll never be like you and you’ll never be like me…… thank God!!!!

i liked the point of view on this. it bordered sarcasm, a little slap towards someone, but still brings about the value of individualism. nice piece.
