Patient,peaceful,shining eyes
Wizened face ,grey shaggy moustache, beard
Aquiline nose,balded forehead,long grey mane
Frayed, ash-colour shirt collar
The PICTURE in the living room
A toddler two decades back looked with curiousity
Stared----------- finger in his chubby mouth
Bare buttocks................. flimsy cotton vest
Bubbling with energy..... never seeking rest
"Who is that?" drawled the toddler to his doting mother
"Your great grandfather dear.......... but don't bother !"
The New Year hatches
The living room picture watches
Calendars are replaced.. their pages are turned
Question in the mind of the toddler forever burned
Balloons, coloured paper streamers.. living room decorated
The child's tenth birthday ........................ the day ill-fated
Not tall enough to reach the picture
Stands up on a chair.... brings the picture down
Stares at the picture closely
Careless for a trice-the picture drops-- the glass is shattered
The boy plays with the Picture ----- glass all round scattered
Boy grows into a lovely teenager............ becomes self-conscious
The picture with the new glass smiled-- seemed to say something
Hot summer days, chilly winter nights, sicknesses, silly family fights
The Picture saw them all.................... never tired at these sights
The living room has a new coat of glistening paint
Bright fluorescent lights shine ... the toddler now an adult
Room abuzz with invitees ----gracing the wedding ceremony
Pretty, newly wedded wife- tired after the sacred matrimony
That PICTURE is so ugly !!!! doesn't suit a wall as this !
Put up the painting we got as wedding present
The toddler inside the groom revolts but doesn't dissent
Old Man is disgracefully taken off the rusty iron hook
Thrown into the trashbin ... that is written in The Book
The Book of Evolution, The Book of Change with Time
What'd I think if that Picture was mine ??????

The old needs to give way to the new. If not life will come to an end! Nice!
