White-Bearded Popeye

****************************

White-bearded Popeye

Went for a date with Olly

They ordered crispy fries

 chilled beer to wash down

Yet onlookers didn't miss

The silent sadness on them

 years was a frivolous blast

Both knew wouldn't last

In each others eyes

They saw the happy rewind

Strength flowed again into

their weakened limbs

They held each others hands

Danced through the resto floor

Onlookers gaped eyes wide

The happy couple were on a ride

They sailed on a mind-boat

Keeping one another afloat

The blue cloudless sky

Sea birds sailing by

Wishing a final goodbye

The boat you know well

Sprung many a leak

Slowly drifted

Into the setting sun

the old toons make for a happy rewind. wonderly to read your latest branb fart. Yes, I know that skiff. It summons but I have sealant and lots of corks for leaks. I read a poem lately about shifting constellations, during season's change. Like that. 70 in February. My feet are a little wet about now as the right hand heals :D ~ stella
