Folks caught unawares
Trying to salvage
Their lowly belongings
old gas stove & cylinder
Daughters pencil box
Half drunk pint
Those extra pairs of shoes
Party suit seldom worn
Few sprays left deo
Half-eaten pack of biscuits
The rusty baby pram
Sweaters for keeping warm
The waters gushed in
swam an abandoned backpack
The deluge abated
Scars dotted the village
Financially ruined 
Flood
Unfortunately, some folks must live in the flood plain ... just like others are forced by poverty to live in the shadow of the volcano, or on the steep hillside slums. Tragedy awaits the trailer park.....
