she looks shy
standing there
the light plays tricks
in her long dark hair
I wonder what
flows through her mind
her looks not rare
but hard for me to find
she looks shy
sitting there
kitchen table
kitchen chairs
empty bowl
and coffee cup
soft mothers hands
hold baby up
another picture
again not so rare
but priceless love
baby held in mothers care
but she looks off
from camera's view
and makes me wonder
is this one picture or is it two
now at last she doesn't look shy
but full of grace
as she smiles upon
her babies face
her hair looks maybe
chestnut there
and soft, in soft light
in the living room chair
and my eyes wander
through her place
with thoughts of love
and time and space
oh what tricks
my mind does play
when I look at
three pictures you sent my way
and I think about
the talks we've had
what's good in life
and what's been bad
as I look at
pictures of you
I struggle to know
what is true
and wonder snow white princess
who are you
