Watch Clock Stoppage.

All over the world the Clocks and Watches are stopped. It is as if some magician had stopped all watches, clocks and all other timepieces had never been invented. How was this possible? No one seemed to know anything about this strange happening. Scientist put forward theories that were useless. Candles were being produced with markings so that people had some idea of how the hours were passing. The biggest problem was at the umpteen Factories and places of work where staff had to clock in so that the firm knew who had worked what hours.

How did it affect me All I had to go on was the radio and the television small inserts were put on the television screen saying what time the television thought it was. Not really accurate but a good Idea of the way time is passing. Factories that produced timepieces such as watches or clocks had to put people of work each watch or clock produced did not work. I had locked away in my old safe a watch from my Great Grandfather. Being nosey I wondered if this old watch had been affected with whatever it was that had caused all clocks and watches to stop working.

I opened the old safe with the numbers written down by my great Granddad and found that my Granddad’s watch was still ticking. Every morning, one of my first jobs after my breakfast was to wind the golden timepiece left by my Great Grandfather. I phoned the television and told them that I could provide them with the exact time as my Grandfathers Pocket Watch functioned and gave off the correct time as it had done for at least four generations.

The television brought with them two very bright lights and a camera. This was placed in front of my old safe. I was filmed as I opened the safe no one could see what number I used and I swung the safe door open. The lights now flooded the inside of the safe I opened the small golden case and showed the face of Great Grandfathers watch to the camera. I had switched on the television and there on the screen was Great Grandfathers old golden watch. My phone began to ring. Offers were made for the watch and the safe. I did not want to sell the old watch I was not interested in becoming a Millionaire. I had enough money to see out the rest of my life. The watch I would on my death donate to Great Britain to be place in the British Museum.

All over the world reports came in about the loss of time and when were the scientist going to tell the world what had gone wrong with one of their experiments that had stopped all of the clocks in the world from working. One week went past and suddenly all clocks and watches started to work again. Then an Indian that had been experimenting with time projects that he had been working on in a place named Calcutta realised that it was his experiment that had stopped the World’s clocks and watches.  The name of this Indian I managed to find out was Bishu, Bishu had time on his hands and because of the heat and lack of rain he threw the experiment on to the table and left the room. The pieces that he was experimenting with arranged themselves in such a way that a wave went right around the world. This wave stopped all clocks and watches. My old Great Grandfathers watch had been safe from this wave because the old safe had a lining of lead. It was the lead lining that protected my golden pocket watch. Bishu not knowing what his experiment had cause by being thrown on to the table had no idea of his part in stopping the clocks and watches of this world. No body talks about it any more and my grandfathers golden watch will not be going to the British Museum nor my old safe with its lead lining they will stay here in my flat for the next owner to enjoy.
