A portrait

Rain drops and pain stops,
nothing I can't repeat.
Time marches forward,
Until it's frozen at it's feet.

Water freezing up and over,
ever solidifying knees.
Pushing ever onward,
always pulsing through the streams.

Snapshot of time is taken now,
every vision frozen still.
Every love I have to die for,
Every reason I have to kill.

All in this little picture,
a little portrait of the soul.
Every sanctifying reason,
Every part of me that's cold.

Reminders ever always,
of the thought I am today.
Mind always bleeding,
thoughts refusing me to stay.
