184th trimester is a bit late for an abortion, I fear

Folder:
Blood and Water

I think of the time, energy and love,

freely poured into you,

past the point of no return;

and wonder at your ability

to absorb it all with a shrug,

a smile;

that hides those wicked fangs,

while that web you weave

keeps you suspended just above

all that you wrought,

all that you claim,

all that you topple;

and I realize that I forgot -

a spider will devour

absolutely anything

that stumbles

within its web.
