The True Account Of My First Kiss

I was in 8th grade....not even sure any more how old i was at that time ...

  Her name was Julie....Same age...same grade...different school....

A girl I met through the girlfriend of my best friend, Dan...

 3 of us....and 3 of them....

Dan had Carrie....

Eric had Whoever she was...

And .....I,.....I had Julie......

   Julie was a pretty girl.....Blond, pleasingly thick... and artistic..athletic...

in shape...and a beautiful smile..

 wellll......A beautiful smile.. in the making....

     You see, Julie had braces.....

and not the ones like today...the discreet clear, tiny ones....

   the train tracks...

metal gear...

Springs, wires........fucking daggers... for Gods'sake.....

    But love is blind....or stupid, whichever..

We were at the Galleria Mall....a favorite hangout of 

miscreants, social defects, unsupervised children and 

well......us too. All of us. 

 The time had came to  a close that afternoon...and we were waiting

for our rides..( none of us drove yet) 

  And Julie and I walked to a private alcove by a window...

Everything was perfect in that moment...so perfect

we leaned in to share our first kiss...

 Sooo soft and OOUCH! what the fuck was that!?

and so nice.....OUCH, what the fuck! 

 sharp pains...like electric carving knives

like the garbage disposal in my kitchen sink..

like a tornado ....nay...

a HURRICANE of swirling razorblades......

  OUCH, fuck

OUCH, fuck

OUCH!! 

She made a strange...almost biting motion...with her mouth

as we "kissed"

  oh, the horror....

oh, the terror.....

please, dear God....if you've ever loved me.....Make it STOP!!

We broke off the kiss....my mouth felt like it was on fire...

or like it was lit on fire, then put out with a hammer...or a pitchfork..

we walked back over to the group. 

Dan said my lip was bleeding, and  It was...

But as a teenager...surely it was love.

Something we all bleed for.
