Said under the Rose
Incantations
Lofty rapturous secrets in prose
Poems upon poems and ecstatic throwes
Summoning forth Aphrodite,
All the Greek Gods and goddesses
monsters
Great sleek beasts
To strangle your indiscretions
Leaping forth
Purging
Howling
Gnashing their teeth.
Sub Rosa
Air stained red and black and gold
Hypnotize them with your lusty attars.
Laughing like idiots intoxicated
In its poison Absinthe.
Its all illusion.
Ventriloquism.
The sensation of a phantom limb
Twitching and kicking and writhing about.
More to the point,
A hallucination matters not the lightest.
Not in any infinitesimal measure,
And when the vertigo subsides,
Like the ebbing tides of late fall
Unscathed and gentle
A gloom sets in.
Said under the Rose.
“But he that dares not grasp the thorn
should never crave the Rose”....
I say to you...Mr. Shakespeare...
“In the raptures of intense love,
does not the thorn itself crave to be grasped”.
Sub Rosa
Repeated comment.
Very clever
....

when was just a wee lad , of the age of 4...or 5...

I am a “Cat Person”
Sub Rosa
Unrepeated if spoken under the rose may be the source of the Klingon axiom, Nothing can be false if spoken under the naked stars (paraphrased). Nice, thanks for the allusion. Wonderful! - slc
