I look back to three years ago

Sweet, fresh and innocent it was

You were across from me down a row

And our lives sped by without a pause

So to the one who healed my heart

To you is how this poem shall start



I thank you for the little things

You’d do to cheer me up and all

Thank you for staying when my words stings

You still stuck through me big or small

You were truly my dear friend

And you were with me til the end



Thank you for staying up late at night

Always making me laugh and cry

And making me smile again after a fight

Softly talking to me with your words of lullaby

And as you slowly got me to tire

I drift away with the ember of our fire



Looking back three years ago you were my friend

Now I look back again two years ago, we were close

Nine months ago we tried to only pretend

That all we wanted was a friendship at the most

Five seconds ago, four, three, two

One you lifted my soul and love you
