Majestic Flight

You soar within the darkness of space.

In solitude, you play with stars.

Heaven's splendor awaits you!

Do not abuse its call.

Reach to touch God's face,

For he is there ~

To guide you

to your

quest.

Author's Notes/Comments:

Wow, this was so hard!  I believe this is called a Nonet.  I saw it described in author's comment in a challenge.  Hawksquaw, your work Inner Grace inspired me to try to do this.  If I understood her correctly your first line has to be nine syllables and each line after that one syllable less till you get to only one.  Hope I did not miscount!  I am not used to being limited to how I place my words.  This was a good exercise in restraint! LOL  Thanks Hawksquaw for the insight. ~Lesa~

I liked your description of the nonet.
It looks fun, maybe I will try that. I love a challenge.
I see what you mean by a challenge in restraint.
A great poem too.
So little can say so much.

Now this I like. and I though sonnets, hiaku's and tanka's were challenging. Great write, great subject. Flows smoothly, nothing forced.

Lesa, This is beautiful, a truly exquisite nonet. And the poem by Hawk Squaw (Renee) that inspired it is one of my favorites of hers.

I read about nonets on a poetry board several months ago and have written several since I discovered the form. I'm also the one who challenged Renee to try her hand at writing one; of course she met that challenge with her usual grace and charm. ;)

well tbis was a great piece of writing.... something that you should be very proud of.......

I am with you...... I like this sort of writing.....because those that know me know that I love to talk......LOL.... just the way I am..... and this does make you use words so carefully to make sure that the reader sees what you are painting......

you have written this with great images..... and it was perfect......

let me know if you do another of these......

should you be up for it...... I have a challenge for you.....

A challenge is wonderful isn't it Lesa! This was very good and you still held the one concept throughout each line to the last word. Great job!
