the blue of your eyes is found in the sky,

but not the ordinary sky of daylight.

your blue is found after sunset

before dawn brings a new day

and after all the wishes on stars

before the passion of blackest night.

and that is where i find you,

between endings and beginnings, 

between wishes and desire.

the blue of your eyes is found in the sea, 

but not the shallow surface of the ocean.

your blue is found in deeper water,

among the last rays of light

above the eternal night 

where life and death create strength in all creatures.

and that is where i find you ,

well below the shallow surface,

soaking in the depths of life.

the blue of your eyes is found in ice, 

but not the young ice of winter.

your blue is found in the heart of a glacier, 

seasoned by years of pressure, 

colored by traces of faraway lands

carried on winter winds. 

and that is where i find you

revealing power created by endurance

quietly carving mountains with your will.
