+Why do you fear my hand?
Take it, and all will be well,
For I shall take you from this land
To a place where divine do dwell.
*tis not your hand I fear, sir
For it is flesh, as is mine-
But your heart with discord stirs
And with blackest blood does it dine.
+Ye, but does not your heart whisper
Of treasures, thoughts, and feelings untold;
Of things so grand they bring you tears
And mercilessly tempt your soul?
*My heart, indeed, has longed for such things;
It yearns and pulls when I don't appease.
Tis also true, it forever brings
A sense of honour, when not so pleased.
+Honour is but a useless virtue, my dear
Put to work to make you weak-
Come now, there is naught to fear;
Take your leave of this world so bleak.
*Nay! This is home, and I shall stay.
Forever till the day turns grey
Forever till the sun does fade
Forever still...I shall not stray!
HOW BEAUTIFUL!!! It feels like this piece came from some famous play. They way you wrote the conversation between the two is absolutely breathtaking. You have such a way with words. Amazing.
i think this may be my favorite, it is speaks to all of us
LOVE it
I don't know what to say, just that I love it. Its so deepa nd exploring. The two poeple conversing and how one wants the other to follow him. It just... wow...
WOW! I love this poem, its really nice... something like a gentle argument. And how in the end the person does not give in to temptation. i especially like this "But your heart with discord stirs
And with blackest blood does it dine."
I really enjoy this poem and the two voices in this poem comuning back and forth. Temptation can be a wonderful thing, or whisper of evil things that it might bring.
