NO LOVER

Couples embracing here

Couples nuzzling there

They glance at me and wonder

Why I do not choose a partner.

I was taught that romance was

a trap to be avoided.

Love was merely a luxury

and I would always be too

poverty-stricken to afford it.

So I learned to live within my means

Sighing over lustful dreams

and wishing on stars from afar.

Over time, I grew wiser

but hoarded love like a miser

Never giving for fear of being robbed.

Very well written!  Although

Very well written!

Although it's sad, it will be all so much more beautiful

when you do experience love. It will be so rich. I

looked forward to that day for you.

This is really sad and I hope

This is really sad and I hope for your sake that it isnt true! They say that there is someone for everone out there and I hope that you find yours. Great poem... it was written well. I read a few of your others and i must say you have an odd style. Very interesting

No One

could write so well of love and never have given it openly or pursued and captured it - from time to time if not lastingly. Well composed - touching something vital with incredible  intuition and clarity. ~Stella~
