This is no tale of saga wet seas
only concrete and ant infested rubber
tree plant tires. I lied, there was one
man oh man-polka dot vested cloud.
A few blocks up John R there were
real bullets, no crossbows in
the privvy. By consent, I took
the little cherub's arrow straight
through my given bad named
blameless love.
.
No eyes ever focused like that
or ever should. Wild sides walked
there, the life risk everyone
goes on about blazed where no
woman had gone before midnight.
The dim pub provided the ambiance,
the keep had hired a group of angels
recently thrown from "above"
called The Ex-Heavened. Lotus toters
every one, they sang his epic of
pitiless towns, his lay of most
uncommon length, the foreshadow
conveyed deep and wide epitaphs
filled with Lost Boys from the hood.
.
I sold my r and b 78's for
an apparition that could not dance.
The junkman came by to collect
my purchased defibrillated heart.
No sun shed light upon this sea
of love or contorting postman.
Smoke was in everyone else's
eyes. There was no moon out that
night.

Among the greatest lines I have ever read
Wild sides walked
there, the life risk everyone
goes on about blazed where no
woman had gone before midnight.
Also particularly fantastic is "The junkman came by to collect / my purchased defibrulatered heart." A truly Detroit/industrial feel, the monguls raping the scene.
A Song Allusion
"I sold my heart to the junkman
and I'll never fall in love again."
Walk On The Wildside was a movie
I liked Jimmy Smith's version of
the theme song. Then enter
Star Trek 'Round Midnight".
.
I like: "The Ex-Heavened"
great name
for a rock group.
:D
You
Believe it or not, though I
Believe it or not, though I know of the song I've probably only heard it a couple of times in my life. I did not get familiar enough with the lyrics to connect that. Nice play on the those lyrics, to say the least.
"Ex-Heavened" definitely sounds like a rock band name. How about "Exhaled From Heaven"? That's not too bad, either. I think that would make a good song title, if nothing else. Hmmm.
Atmospheric and spellbinding.
Atmospheric and spellbinding. I'm there in the dim, pulsing pub where "the life risk everyone/ goes on about blazed where no/ woman had gone before midnight." The last line sets the stage for suspense. Great stuff. I'm listening . . .
A Break
Into the phantasmagorical. Poking at conventionality with the pointy end. Will use what wit I will to say, just say. :D
Thanks for the listen.
