patronizing is required
to turn around a poet.
Premise #1. Poets subborn
critics and crunch on them like
treats late night. Premise #2.
Challenge a poet and they
will bring out the big guns:
prose.
That's enough premises.
Second principles are in order
but as a poet, I have verses
to corrupt with nonessential
thoughts born of too may
decades of seeing and not
doing anything about it.
