I am twenty-one years old today
But tomorrow I'm turning fifty
The journey of life - the roads I've taken
Have aged me ever so swiftly
What happened to my inner child?
Who's been replaced by voice of reason
I trust my youth still lives insides,
She's only resting for this season
How did I become so bold; so stern?
I was just a kid yesterday it seems
When did life take such a turn
And bring me all the worry of adult-like things?
Must I become a product of age?
Can't I just stay young for the rest of my days?
This frightening feeling of growing up fast
Sure makes me cherish my inspiring past
Thank you, Mom and Dad,
For raising me right --
You taught me that this life
Is surely filled with love and light
Thank you to my sister,
And thank you to my friends
For showing me at any age
The spirit of childhood never ends.
A very
Sweet poem for a. Sweet lady

Poetry is passion, imagination & soul mixing together....
Words
Really like the poem
And the appreciation
That you have shown.

Yesterday
Has passed me by
Left me in the great divide
Between the kid I used to be
And the man I'll someday be
Yesterday has said goodbye
Where childhood left, a grown-up lies
But I can still remember
To always look inside
Back upon the simpler
Days that have gone by
You're work has a power in its brilliance. Echoes left from remnants. Thank you for the inspiration :)
