A Summers Day

The blue Sky haze, cleared;

And the sizzling Sun, appeared.

How hot and glorious the Sun seared.

Where to sunbath? Where to be reposed?

With factor fifty, sunblock, be it known!

Sun hat on, perched quaintly upon my crown.

Incase the Sun and heat, make me frown.

I wonder if I will go brown?

To cool myself down; I drink a cold drink.

Pouring the fizzy liquid, to the glasses brink.

Nothing stronger, or I'll be in the pink.

I'll pour some water too, I think.

Still not cool; I retreat to the shade.

A shame, you say to need such aid.

"Let the Sun shine on", I bade.

For Summers warmth and cheer, will fade.

Author's Notes/Comments:

This Summers heat certainly inspired me to write this poem. After so much dismal weather.

I loved the flow of this one.........

it seemed to come so easily and naturally. There didn't seem to be any struggle to write it nor any type of self forcing. Do share some more, Sincerely, Melissa Lundeen.

you are so very welcome..........

but does a beautiful eye  catching painting need to thank the patron who stops to appreciate its beauty? winks...... food for thought, I know, I thank people for their appreciation too. It's the polite thing to do our parents tell us. I was glad to let you know of my joy........ M.

I love summer. Especially

I love summer. Especially summer nights with clear skies, I like to star gaze in the warm breeze. Some find it annoying but I also enjoy the cicadas chorus as they chrip and buzz through the night. Great poem. Hope to see you post something new you're quite talented.

Long days and pleasant nights

Diamond
