Flight in the Autumn Wind

I am walking up a hill from a tawny meadow.
Thinking of secluded verse that hides in shadow.

My rose wood cane is poking and stirring at the musky air.
My inventive hand knows the calendar has finished this affair.

Sense to sustain truth remains unrestrained.
Waning mood of autumn ices the bone weather has changed.

The rawness of the wind, says, "summers warmth appears undone."
Like it or not autumns spectacle calls, like a rapidly setting sun.

This interlude, with the colorful last blasts that fall fashions.
Forests of fiery foliage mirror lovers left with dying passions.

Alone reminiscent, mysteriously, the breeze rustles the trees.
I recognize winds of listlessness, as my own instinctive pleas.

A cold drizzle, sprays onto my face, they are the tears of Autumns pain.
Feelings chill to a fizzle, revealing fears, as my eyes shed their own rain.

Minutes roll onto years, with every life cycle, difference continually amends.
A brittle brown leaf sails by in the wind, until the leaf finally descends.

Like life, seasons never linger, switching and then moving along with time.
Nature continues on its stage of conditions, sometimes turning on a dime.

Languages of image, aura of gravity, nights become long, days stay thinned.
I am a brittle brown leaf on an intricate flight in the autumn wind.

This is really pretty,very

This is really pretty, very nice. Tip try not to make youre metaphores so neat . ie,tears ,rain - not saying to be convoluted for the sake of it but get out of your own way. If people dont unstand they will ask - as long as there's something worth asking about - look at Plath. I know you can do it,keep it up.

What a wonderful poem, with vivid imagery and very cleverly written. Just loved your poem. Liked the last line too very dramatic.

Impeccable

I have to say this is my favorite yet. Which each new work of yours I tend to find myself in the very scenes you descirbe. You have a very strong talent for imagery and the way you weave ad thread prose into these delightful tapestries of story really is impressive. I tip my hat to you sir.

TheLadyBlue I am glad you enjoed this work so much.

I feel this one of my better attempts at stretching out and connecting with the human condition, as it relates to aging and the march of time.

thank you

you have what it takes, take your time, if you really want to write, then write like you really want it! Write what you really feel, and work it, work it real hard, anything worth doing is worth doing as well as you can do it..
check spelling, check grammer, check word meaning, check it once than check it again...
open your mind and heart to the possibilty...
It is up to you, you can wish in one hand and then shit in the other, what do you think you will be left with...
anything you want is up to you, it is up to you, your success is determined by what you want not what limits others place on your position..

Peace
