parents and children

the eclipse

I’ve been worshiping

your light

since the beginning of days

without you

I am blind

rosy fingered dawn

present on every page

of the great epics

yet never have you

been granted a

cult of your own

the intensity of your brightness

prohibits mortal eyes

to gaize upon you fully

enter the

eclipse a

once in a

lifetime

chance

seconds

maybe minutes

your glory veiled

your lunar consort absorbing

the full force

of your glory

a chance

a mere mortal might

dare to look

upon the whole of

your face

I understand now

the queen of heaven needs

her dying and rising god

to shield mortals from your

solar fate

my eyes finally open

I see you now, I

ready to go blind

I wait for you

let there be light
