Aspire Recounts To Succeed

Laying low

For cousin omar and bother isaac

for sister julie and mother thelma

uncle james and father imran.

laying low this body of mine

is just the youth in me

that seeks the wisdom of age

to recount now and tomorrow

how well it walked, no shame

They claim no shame in age

but it was behind they'd looked

though they knew not the path

the one they took to age

but now it's aged

one recounts its days

about good and bad

'I'm proud' they state

Opposites for me

this isn't right

when burnt by fire

then hired for pity, to live pretty

how dare you say she chose the way?

but that's the sight

of hypocrits who age, with shame
