I worked in a deaf school across the world from my home. There was a little girl who looked so strong and full of life. Although I have very limited sign language and it was different because we were from two different continents, Angel loved to "talk" to me. Then, I was told her story. When she goes home from boarding school she is neglected. Her family doesn't treat her like a person but more like a slave used for work and sex. This girl will not ever leave my mind, but it makes me glad that she at least gets to be at school most of the year away from them.
