How could it be so easy

For you to say goodbye?

Were all those tender promises

Nothing but a lie?

The day you walked away from me,

My soul began to bleed

You left me with the wreckage

Of every shattered need.

I wish I had the strength to say

I hate you,just to let you go,

But the truth still burns upon my tongue

I love you more than you’ll ever know.
