The Department of Psychiatry is close to my heart. I still think its patients are the happiest and the saddest. Emotions controlled by neuroleptics and mood stabilizers often reveal by itself, making the psychiatric wards an arena of full blast comedies and of heart rending dramas.
From where I live, patients in psychiatry are still sadly stigmatized. I wonder, when will we ever understand ?
Patients in this department may have traumatic issues or an imbalance of neurotransmitters to the brain which can be corrected by drugs. Patients here don't have twisted brains or something even close. Reading about mental conditions will help us fully appreciate the uniqueness of the human brain and the conditions which may affect behaviors.
