Where was god the voices cried
when the kids in the schoolhouse died

where was god I heard them preach
when tsunamis swept the beach

where was god with all his lovin'
when Nazis fed Jews to the oven

where was god at the twin towers
when the jumpers rained in showers

it's becoming ever clear
the only god is the god of fear

Cool poem, darkpool. It's very accessible, like something that would be shared a lot on facebook. I like that it's simple and reminds me of an old newspaper poem.

I love the subject of your poem, and your rhyme. If God really exists, why would he be so cruel? Maybe he just isn't there.

I think you should reread my poem 'Good Old Dog'. It actually tries to convey a very similar message to the one in your poem, in an allegorical manner. I did this because I believed that the bible is full of metaphors. I'm not a christian by the way.
