Regret is such a fickle state of mind
So many live their lives,
weighed down by a lifetime of regret.
They don't realize the freedom they could achieve,
Simply if they let themselves be.
So tell me,
What is regret to you?
Who is regret to you?
Where did regret first rear its ugly head?
Why do you carry this damn regret?
As I have grown older,
I have come to realize many things;
Love is real, it is truly devine
Love should never be followed by regret.
Hate is real, devine it is not.
But it too, should never align with regret.
Children should be loved,
Not just another regret.
Family is so much more important than damn regrets.
Broken hearts mend,
Regret just delays the wound from closing.
I hear people say this every day,
these things that they regret.
If there is one thing I could leave behind,
it would be this simple thought;
To live life without regrets is not so hard,
if you take each thing in life that holds potential
to be a regret and turn it into a lesson learned,
you can safely live without regrets.
For regret,
is simply lifes lessons we didn't bother to learn.
