So sorry for such a late: So sorry for such a late reply, I'm not on here as often as I should be. Thank you for your kind comment. I am not familiar with that poem, I will look it up. Sue.
Thank you Wordman, I'm glad: Thank you Wordman, I'm glad you enjoyed it. No incidents since thankfully. I would love to read your squirrel poem.
I love to watch them bury the peanuts, I like to see them put the soil back with their paws then carefully pat it
down. :-) sue.
S & M?:
Freedom is under attack
exotica at this point is whack
covid shuts down schools
nazis breakin' the rules
moma nature converts us to fools.

Blood running before the sex act
a metaphor for senses gone lax
the news is not fake
eye and mind double take
to discover egoism is smack.

Metaphored chains must be stuck
on a rack where we ran out of luck
review those facilities
choose alternate realities
substituting mire and muck.

You get it! Thanks. How: You get it! Thanks. How brilliantly you expounded upon what I was trying to say. Your encouragement makes a difference, especially how they "are up to the challenges once they grow out of you". I really needed that! I'm perfectly content to be a "useful stair" as she makes her own choices.
A terrible snowstorm hit Virginia, and as you know, the South doesn't know how to handle snow, (I grew up in New Jersey where we went to school unless we were buried) so I'm out of power and reliable internet service, but when things are restored, I'll swing over to your site to see what wonderful art you have posted. I can always count on you to surprise me. Love that!
Thanks for the read and the very comforting comment.
This contains a wisdom that I: This contains a wisdom that I wish I had read decades ago, when my adolescence began---it would have made my life understandable. And the final paragraph contains a wisdom that is applicable to all of us, no matter what stage or age of life. The whole piece---from first word to last---is brilliant!
Spinoza's comment brought me: Spinoza's comment brought me to this excellent poem. Its structure---quatrains to tell the tale, and couplets to express the speaker's objectons---definitely supports the emotional content of the poem. The structure is a strategy all of its own. I also applaud the rhyme scheme, and its avoidance of slant rhymes. And, of course, the content and message of the poem is so poignant.
