Hello Morningglory!: Hello Morningglory!
Been a long time. How are you? What's the story?
How long has it been? Seems like an eternity
To be clear, I said 'eternity', not 'paternity'
If you're unclear about paternity
We'll need to go on 'Maury'
There is a great element of: There is a great element of fear when starting over or anew. Our insides turn to jelly and hummingbird wings, all the while discovering it was a silly thing to worry over at all. As always, wonderful writing.
This appears to be the last: This appears to be the last poem you posted on PostPoems, and I wanted to place a comment upon it. You were one of the first Poets to impress me here, in the first days of my participation, and you are missed here.
Thank you for the comment,: Thank you for the comment, and for being one of PostPoems' best. Like the sites other pillars, you set an example both of literary excellence and of courteous fellowship that more of the members ought to emulate. And, as long as I am able to put two words together in a phrase, I will be sure to point that out.
My wordss are your words they: My wordss are your words they are free, its a little too much gratitude but it certainly made me smile and that's not easy these days! I am humbled and this is so true and profound. An am truly honoured you mentioned me in at all because there's no need. Your use of words as descriptions and as happenings are just wow! You'll have to find the phrase for me! Hugss and gratitude always ss
I really . . . REALLY . . .: I really . . . REALLY . . . like this poem. That first line is quite a hook, it yanks the reader into the poem which then accelerates immediately into its subject matter with no delay, and no chance to look back or back out. Like the first notes of a sonata's major theme, after the intro, lines five throug nine set both the theme and the pace, and then the poem swiftly and effeciently works its effect upon the reader.
Thank you so much for taking: Thank you so much for taking the time to read, and truly experience, my expression. Just having you stop by is a pleasure, but your luminous vision and poetic insights are a huge honor. I value your opinion, brilliant poet.
I sat beside your beautiful: I sat beside your beautiful lake, letting my mind wander to those visited in my memory,
and in my smile, I found the beauty in your words inviting me once again to my youth,
where " the unblinking water" held its mysteries in my own imagination.
I thank you for such a wonderful gift, and for the peace I once found on that shore, alive again,
through your words, and talent.
a number of my poems are: a number of my poems are drawn from dreams. The Batman Dream or the Child Catcher are dreams from my youth. I'm working a crafting a dream based on a recurring dream about graduating from high school. Mary Shelly certainly produced a masterwork with Frankenstein.
I feel a little awkward here,: I feel a little awkward here, commenting on this poem. The situation is, of course, none of my business; but in what you have disclosed of it, in this poem, I shall first commend you for the bravery you have demonstrated in describing the situation (but this bravery is not a new aspect; it has always been a part of those poems of yours that I have read). And I commend you for summarizing the situation with neither bombast nor guttertalk. You maintain your dignity as Poet, and you maintain the decorum of your poetic language even as you deal with a difficult problem, one of the most difficult (I would surmise). As long as I have known your name on PostPoems, you have been what I might call one of this site's Pillars---not only for your verbal skill, but also for the way you have faced problematical situations with both honesty and courtesy. I applaud you, Metaphorist, for who you are, how you write, and the significance that you bring to this site.
I do not even have sufficient: I do not even have sufficient words to describe the thrill of receiving such a reply from a Poet of your supreme stature.
Hello: Thank you so much this made me cry you seem like a very nice man I don't get on Post Poems alot but thank you so much. Now I am dealing with health issues I had a knee replacement in 2019 which has being a night mare they had to take out my knee and put a spacer in just a long story.
I've never commented on this one but,: But I've read it often it is so powerful, so where words fail me probably because I know the source of the poem and how deep it runs. I will instead congratulate you on 1000+ reads and hope for many, many more! Hugss.
