Economy of the Eccentrics

Nation of the Strange

A label of picture and frame

An army a family around us

The making of what we became

The highest point we stand

Looked down on by all other

We vowed to make it through

Hand in hand family and brother

Our promise to one another

One by one we broke apart

Their hands eventually slipped away

And faded into the dark

Whether taken by Gods call

Or given a life to replace the taken

The greener pastures we seek for

And the ones of us forsaken

Losing ourselves in the fantasy

This hill of our hopes and dreams

An alternate world we all still sit

Forever a group a family a team

Life for us is never that simple

We are expelled from this abode

So go forget the past and pain

By running down the road

Author's Notes/Comments:

I wrote a novel about this group of year 12 students who promise each other that they will all pass the year together. Problems arise and out of the ten students who made the promise only four pass at the end of the year.
