(*4) Emily’s Memory
Wavy auburn hair,
Down past her knees.
Honey brown eyes,
(The one thing of her,
With which her mother was pleased.)
One little girl,
Who could not connect.
Her brother and sister were comely,
Smart and adored.
This one was different,
Though perfectly formed.
She did not inspire cuddles,
Or kisses and hugs.
And would never solve the mystery,
Of earning Mother’s love.
The tragedy described through, and very much in between, these lines is gutwrenching---to say the least! Thank you for giving us more of an understanding of Rachel, as her sequence progresses.
Starward
Wow. This was very deep and profound.
