Can't you hear them crying?
What is it you can't see?
Your young daughters are dying,
are you paralyzed like me?
Won't you be a parent,
and save them from this man?
Or hide being your ignorance,
what can't you understand.
they look to you for guidance,
your duty to protect!
Don't you hear them crying?
I'm only a child,
are you paralyzed like me?
This one is very eerie, and the eeriest part is that some of the information has been withheld from the reader by the poet. This makes the sense of mystery, and of dire, perverse mystery, almost unbearable. I hope I am reading this correctly, but this one is almost like a ghost story.
