The Whole World

There was once a boy,
He thought he had
The whole world in his hands.

He did
In some way.

He would walk up and down the streets
Everyday

Greeting everybody
That passed him

People thought he was crazy
Especially when he told them
To look into his palms

And that
The whole world
Were in them.

I never talked to the boy
My mother told me not to

Yet I yearned to see what he would say
To a person like me.

I live a trapped life.
Following the rules,
Never questioning once.

I ran into him one day

He greeted me
And looked at me strangely.

Yet he held out his palms
"Ya know,
I have the whole world there."

I looked into them
"No ya don't"

"Yeah I do
Just look more carefully."

Then I saw it.

The whole world
In his palms.

He whispered into my ear
"Ya know
You can have one too.

You can have the whole world in your hands as well."

"But there's only one world
Isn't there?"

He just laughed and ran away.

These lines attract me in a strange way, don't ask why but I believe its the most honest piece of your writing.

Plain and simple but somehow comforting. Smells like escape, I guess I quite like it - nice work.
