Nightmare's daydream

Folder:
Self-Harm

I could never forget,
the softest touch,
the very first taste.

Wash away in the water,
scarlet drops bloom on unblemished skin,
the thirst now sated again.

Do you know who you are?

Is this the life you wanted, freshly created?

Tell me you don't miss this just a little bit,
the sweetest kiss of euphoric bliss.

Price of a heart is forever's promise,
phantom memories drifting in mist.

I've been here, footprints in the sand,
washed away in the surf,
back to where I once began.

Tell me you don't dream of this,
see it when you close your eyes,
force your mind away,
too late, you're caught up in yesterday.

Who are you to say forever,
wasn't that long ago that you didn't believe in those.

Daylight delusion, hallucination angel,
don't you remember how it used to go?

Trapped in nightmares and daydreams,
lost control, too late to back down.

Don't belong in heaven's sanctity,
forgotten prayers to a deity that doesn't listen,
promises made mean nothing in the grand design.

My savior is more than what I deserve to need,
I've damned him to an eternity to bleed.

Beautiful. Quite simply beautiful.

If your mirror doesn't find you one of the most beautiful people it has ever seen, punch it and find a better mirror.
