in beauty, with palette’s smear of orange and gold
before the moon announces her majesty, reminding shadows
they are born in her smile, and they fall at her mercy
the kiss of day to night, as eternal lovers meet once more
a never-ending romance balanced by time, and its passing
rapture of touch known only for these fleeting moments
both joy and sadness paint the sky in their brief embrace
I wait the moment when night whispers goodbye
in the new peek of tomorrow and a glorious awakening
when parting lovers steal the smile from the day
traveling in search of that moment divine
Absolutely beautiful, those
Absolutely beautiful, those images are stunning. Loved every word. X

I appreciate that Sue, and I beg forgiveness for the delay in responding. Life was catching up with me, and I had to pay attention to it before it actually passed me. ;)

It's always a pleasure when you stop by, thank you for the visit, and the kind words. Coming from you that is hearty praise indeed. Hugssss back.
Your use of entrancing,
Your use of entrancing, mood-altering atmosphere injects so much power into this romantic escape. The clash of emotions in "the kiss of day to night" when "both joy and sadness paint the sky in their brief/ embrace" was particularly effective.
What also makes this work so well is the beguiling images and sense of place that speak for the ecstasy, the union, of the lovers and all else is left to the imagination. What is not said is glorious, open-ended . . . pure magic.
Encore!
