An Autumn breeze tempts leaves to fly
To join in her dance of summer's demise
Where painted trees light up the day
And nip of night brings blankets display
Summers worth now harvested and stored
While firewood cures in stacks of cords
To feed the hearth on long winters night
With pyre of love to the trees sacrifice
Change rushing through the laze of time
This new season born while one lies dying
In a last brazen sunset he waves his goodbye
As an autumn breeze tempts leaves to fly
You have found bittersweet
You have found bittersweet beauty amid the melancholy of autumn. A last appreciation of the season before the drear of winter.
My Secret River
Autumn surrenders to time,
Autumn surrenders to time, not with a white flag, but with colors so bold that time stands in awe of it's beauty.
