Birth Of A Poem

The birth of a poem

it comes from the heart.

you never know what it

is until you start.

You listen to music

you reminess,you write

about things you love

or miss.

When you sit down you really

don`t know,you just start bringing

things up from the soul.

A love gone away,or just on hold

a friend killed over yonder,or just

things your heart will ponder.

Sometimes your soul will take you

places you don`t want to go,but thats

where the best comes from, deep down

in the soul.a place even angels fear

to go.

But when you have given it birth

it`s the greatest feeling here

on earth, but when you go deep

down in the soul you`ll be amazed

at what will grow...

nice poem. Its a marvel how a poem gestates and how we give birth to it.

You captured the birth of poems very well. I can really relate it and see it through your eyes. I've felt this way before and started writing a poem about it, but I never saw it through. I'm glad you were able to and trust me you did it splendidly. Thank you for sharing your insightful poetry.

This is so true. Poetry is taken right from the soul.
