collateral damage
unintended
off the mark
still it cut
close to the heart …
seems as if I
steal your play
while you wait
to go away …
thinking if you
sneak out back
you’ll be safe
from my attack …
no, I’ll not be
what you want
exit wounds
for you to flaunt.
an inadvertent casualty -
collateral damage … for all to see.

Wonderful write. Yes, life
Wonderful write. Yes, life has some harsh realities...whose only comfort ever seems to be a pat on the back and a "hang in there buddy", eh? It happens to everyone.

Thank you for your comments.
Thank you for your comments. We're all damaged in some way; our best option being to figure out in what way and repair the cracks. Happy Holidays to you, too. :)
