Mortal Beauty
"Yours is more than mortal beauty"
Wrote the poet David in the psalms.
But to know this? Never could he,
for he never held you in his arms.
The King David did continue,
"Ev'ry word you speak is full of grace",
But he did not know, nor do you,
Grace flows from your eyes, your lips, your face.
As David, still more blessed am I
for he only knew what words to write,
for books may teach us of the sky,
better still to gaze on stars at night.
