She said my daddy passed away
as she sit upon my knee.
She played with my snow white beard
two nites before christmas eve.
Mom said God made him a star
for all the world to see.
I see him up there every night
and he shines real bright for me.
Sometimes mom and me
stare at the star lite sky
She always has a smile on her face,
but sometime tears fill her eyes.
So Santa heres my wish
it's the only thing I need
To wake up christmas morning
with that star upon our tree.
I told this girl to always
in God and Santa believe.
But sometimes all her wishes
she would not always recieve.
The next day her mom came by
and rushed up to see me.
She said your not gonna believe
what we found at our christmas tree.
On top of the tree was the brightest star
that we had ever seen.
I believe Gods hands put it there
to show people to believe.
We hugged and cried and watched the star
as its brightness began to fade.
And in the place of the star
I saw my husbands face.
So tonight my family and I
will look to the heavens above.
And find the star most brightest
that God hung there with care and LOVE.
