One fine day
What a fine day today has turned out to be
Sun shining down on me
Not a cloud in this open blue sky
No single avenue from which rain can cry
Only warm air rising high
Birds of prey dancing with wings stretched tight
Birds of song singing their songs of life
As the sun makes its daily run
One wrung of the ladder at a time
Familiar footsteps along the familiar climb
And I’m as happy as I’ve ever been
Seen sin, poverty, and misery
But, today’s song is one of plenty
And, I’m happy simply living
In this one fine day I'm living
