Time is crinkling
As the sinking stone ripples the surface
My reflection loses definition
Fighting the temptation of surrendering verses resistance
Of respect verses indifference
Or love verses inconvenience
This whole life is just a huge indulgence
But, what in life isn't a comparison
Of what is good, against what is better
I can't believe the toll it takes
Trying to believe in something that won't make you better
Cause, in the end, it's all the same
Once love dies, it severs you from the life you once lived and breathed
Reason is no excuse
You flip the channel and the bad news still enters your eyes
Our escape loses validity
And, we're left sitting naked and scared watching a world in demise
Shivering, yet unanimated
Broken, yet unaffected
Until disaster enters into our lives
But, when doesn't hatred effect us
At least on one level or another
It's impossible to not recollect the world as it is
That is, until all the so-called reasons connect like a spider web
And, hold you within the confines of a life you don't want to live anymore
