I looked out of the window and saw a baby bird on the ground
Broken, but alive
Tears in his eyes, but singing his song
To his Creator and to his mother
But, I couldn’t tell if he was seeking protection
Or, just singing joy for his short, but sweet time
Of knowing flight
Of knowing freedom
Of knowing foundations
I learned a lesson from a helpless creature
That all you can really do is appreciate the moment you’re in
And, if, at minimum, that’s the greatest lesson you die knowing
Then, the moment you learned to live in was worth dying for
Good Morning Jon,
I want to thank you for your visit to myself and Aspiring and leaving your heart print behind for me to find this morning.
I love meeting and reading new poetic friends. It is a way of getting to know the person's heart and realizing this world has many gifted, talented people that truly do care about the world around them.
I read several this morning of you but this one especially touched me.
"And, if, at minimum, that’s the greatest lesson you die knowing
Then, the moment you learned to live in was worth dying for"
Beautiful.
Blessings,
Lesa
