The Last Epiphany Before The Change

Folder:
2005 - 2006

I drove down to Mission Springs

Unsurprised, you found me guilty before any action was taken

But all I wanted to do was hold you one more time

Profess justice undone of a similiar consequence never rendered

But like the gate and the frozen time

My heart will never again open towards you as it once did

I scribble something on a note

Pathetic, every word and solitaire

As if a joke by self-definition

Just to let you know I cared

But like ambition to try again

It stales in the stagnant air

Strange, standing here I feel anticipation dissipate

White-knuckled breath fades and this petition dies

You up and turn cold-shoulder as if nothing's changed

Yet I feel imparted to gather and hand you the shrapnel

That impaled my heart as what was considered love imploded

And so I try walk away unaware that the collapse raped me of my strength

I scribble something on a note

Pathetic, every word and solitaire

As if a joke by self-definition

Just to let you know I cared

But like ambition to try again

It stales in the stagnant air

Through the bars I grab your hand

Part your fingers, and there it lands

My heart in the form of ink on paper

My heart in the form of muscle and blood and nothing more

And there the sentence is spoken silently

That all that is ever certain

That all that is ever owned

That all that is ever remembered

That all that ever is, is the past

And how we've changed since it's been
