In this situation courtesy calls

I wave across the room

But the motivation falls before I do

And I turn my eyes away before they meet yours

So I guess this is that feeling you get when it’s over



I smile to myself

I realize now what’s buried

Though underground it fell shallow

So it kept me coming back

But now that I realize what’s buried

It’s keeping me on the forward track



Thank You, are the words that never occurred to me

Before this night I was bitter towards you

Those feelings slipped away somewhere along the line

Though I don’t know where or when

So I guess this is that feeling you get when you’re healed



I cannot lie about how hard it’s been

But when I think back now, it’s okay
