Are you happy with the way things are here
Or would you try to trun back the clock
Or rewind the tape and simply leave it blank
Cause it seems the director of our movie up and left
Leaving us without directions or the script
Although in vain we tried to finish the play
The curtain never fell and the crowd never cheered
We like the director gave up, just turned our backs
Forgetting that the previous scenes would bring the end
Much to the crowds dismay the credits ran early
They wanted back their tickets also their time
Cause their time is precious as well as is ours
We could have been at home with the ones who care
With the ones who put in time to make us better
But our dreams got in our eyes and blinded us
We couldn't see our present desires would cut us short
When in the past our intentions were to play til the end
The director infected our hearts with a disease
That broke us and killed our drive to succeed
It's sad how we're just like the actors on the big screen
Who just read a scripts of someone they could never be
But it's who they are though, if the money is secured
At the same time would leave in a heart beat when it ran out
Don't you see we're as fake as Hollywood
It must have been hard to have your soul removed and replaced with silicon
But it's okay cause to live the dream we chase
We have to extinguish those small town flames
Hose them down, knowing things would never be the same
We knew the curtain of our love would have to fall early
And when it did we picked up another small town script
Read it then acted it out to the best we could
Hoping this one would be our big break into stardom
Hoping our skills would attract an audience
But we knew they wouldn't and never would
So we chase our dreams to find nothing's left
We find nothings real and that's a hard thing to learn
I realize now, we're mere puppets infront of a mirror
I realize now that the curtain never rose
This is probably one of my favorites that I have ever written.
