The Conceited Side of Beauty

Folder:
My Thoughts

With me, you are the only one who make a difference

Or so that's what you honestly think

But they say you get what you give, cause

Day after day after all the hell you pay

Of thoughts you're not willing to share

About your outward presence but hollow heart

Never a more corupt jury, always clean

Never a more insecure person, always seen

And still it's you, you, and still you

Oh how it hurt's to finally see the truth

To see the conceited side of beauty in me

Still me, you selfishly take comfort in you perfection

With your lamp lit starring at blank paper

But this isn't where your comfort begins, cause

Night after night after you write what you could never say

With you there's never a chance to speak

About your outward presence but hollow heart

Never a more self-conceited giver, ever known

Never a more one-faced two face, ever grown

Always you, you, and still more you

Oh how it hurts to finally see the truth

To see the conceited side of beauty in me

And how long will it take for you

To let the old slip away

And even chance the future

Cause you're tired of the hurt and the hell you paid

And now...

Year after year after all the dark days

Your light's shining through in a brand new way

Now your outward presence is your outward heart

Never a more forgiven liar, with brand new feet

Never a more cured illness, with no doctors to seek

And now it's YOU, YOU, and still more YOU

Cause, oh how it hurt to finally have seen the truth

To have seen the conceited side of beauty in youth

Author's Notes/Comments:

It's about only seeing you (me)as the "only one" and putting yourself up on a pedestal. Then realizing how wrong you are.
