THE HAND CLAPPED

The swallows nestled in convened flock
Atop my roof, they sat aloof, and at peace
Ratatat! Ratatat!
What was that?
all at once, as in a desperate breath of release
they flapped and flipped!
at the sound of the hand clapped
Ascending away to oblivion
like the mysterious beyond
they have mounted, taken flight
like sweet chocolate dots,
fading away from tasteful sight

my roof has no more hair, nor feather
for the glory of your love once e-ter-nally promised
has left my forehead cold scornfully un-kissed
leaving only the stench of your pungent releases
for that moment, shame as thorns crowned
on my head leaving, deep creases

Crack! Boom!
The thunder rolled
With voice of vindication
Dash! Flash!
The lightening flared
With awakening, illuminating revelation

Ratatat! Ratatat!
What was that?
All at once the sky went black
With the sound of a mighty hand clap
Again lightening flashed and thunder spoke
Commanding the willows rains
And oh it obeyed loquaciously, lavishly
in sheets of unrelenting redemption.
It poured and I pored
It poured and I pored
Till my roof was cured
My gardens watered
And my fruit restored
The Swallows gulp no longer a choking glob upon my head
The merciful rain washed away all the pain and dread

Ratatatat, ratatatat!
What was that?
The hand clapped in applause
The hand clapped, I rejoiced!
The hand clapped in applause
The hand clapped, I rejoiced!
Whooosh! Whoosh ,
The cool winds sublime
On the wings of time
Carry me on to another season
Another time, redefined reason
The white doves nestle in convened flock, atop my roof
They sit gracious and at peace , restoring my youth.
