Here I am having a one sided conversation
As you lay there tight lipped
keeping your dreams to yourself
Choosing to, not share
You will not even give me
eye open contact,
I continue to stare
To add insult to injury
you cover your head and body too
exacting your rejection on me
Put me out of my misery!
Put me out of my pain!
Just press the button
I cannot take the shame.
Snuff my lights out
Disconnect my power
For you will not give me
your ear, eye, or an hour
So why should I stay alert to you
I have tried to entertain you,
by making you laugh’ cry, even
giving you a thrill, a scream,
from prime time to noon time
Now you pretend
that you do not know me
You tune me out as if I am not here
Well, maybe in the morning
when you open your eyes
Your favorite morning show
will be on my face
Then we can interact
and maybe solve a case.
So sleep on now,
watch the screen of your dreams
I will be here waiting for you
Still foolishly reaching through the airways
Your faithful television
This piece is very clever. It seems as though a woman is having or trying to have a conversation with an unwanting man. I would like to hear you recite this one. Good write!
