Journey and the Goal
After what felt like a lifetime (and was)
I finally reached the goal!!!
Turns out the goal was Death.
How did you enjoy the journey, they asked
Not much, I answered, Well, maybe a little
Ah, they said, when things went your way?
Yes.
You must try again, they said
Look for ways in which the journey is interesting
What interests you may come to delight you.
Sift the energies:
Learn to know hard-kernelled, foolish young souls despite the accomplishments they wear as disguise.
Make Time your ally: keep your attention even, as dancers dance the moments between steps.
Know that, embodied, interested eyes may become gentle and glad
And the journey itself can fulfill all need.
